Kirk James Ferentz, an American football coach, was born on August 1st, 1955. He has been the University of Iowa’s current head football coach since the 1999 campaign. Kirk has also played college football and from 1974 through 1976, Ferentz was a linebacker for the University of Connecticut’s collegiate football team. Ferentz made history as the longest-tenured FBS coach at a single program since 2017. At the university of Iowa, Ferentz has the most victories overall.

Ferentz worked at Worcester Academy as the offensive line coach and defensive coordinator for the 1978 and 1979 seasons. Aside being a coach, He’s being working with offensive coordinator Mike Sherman and head coach of the Worcester team Ken O’Keefe, Ferentz also coached Joe Philbin. Ferentz oversaw the girls’ basketball team at Worcester in addition to instructing English literature.
