Otis Taylor, a wide receiver for the Chiefs for ten years, died on March 9, 2023. Taylor had a protracted fight with his health while playing on one of the NFL’s most dynamic teams with quarterback Len Dawson. When he passed away, he was 80 years old.

Taylor was first taken out of Prairie View A&M in the fourth round of the 1965 AFL draft. With 7,306 receiving yards and 57 touchdown catches, the wide receiver finished his career. In a time when the passing game was still growing, he went on to compile two seasons with 1,000 or more receiving yards.

The Super Bowl IV touchdown reception by Otis Taylor, who assisted the Kansas City Chiefs in defeating the Minnesota Vikings, will live in infamy. In 1982, Taylor was given a place in the Chiefs’ ring of honour.
