In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Raiders took him in the second round. Carr, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, assisted the Raiders in making the playoffs in 2016 for the first time since the team’s inception in 2002. In 2021, he guided Las Vegas to another postseason appearance.
At Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas, Carr’s high school football career got underway, and he spent his first year on the freshmen squad before switching to the varsity team as a sophomore as the backup quarterback.
A preseason injury to another quarterback forced him into the starting quarterback position despite his lack of preparation. Carr improved gradually while serving as the Clements High School Rangers’ starter.
