Robert Greenberg is an American Composer, pianist, and musicologist. Robert Greenberg was born on April 18, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. Numerous honors have been bestowed upon Greenberg, such as three Meet the Composer grants and three Nicola De Lorenzo Prizes for composition. Additionally, the Alexander String Quartet, XTET, the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, the Koussevitzky Foundation of the Library of Congress, and others have commissioned Greenberg.

Robert Green’s works have been presented in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Greece, and the Netherlands, among other cities. Greenberg’s compositions were released by the now-defunct Fallen Leaf Press and CPP/Belwin (which is now a division of Alfred Publishing Company) and were recorded by the Innova Recordings label.

Robert Greenberg is a resident composer and music historian for National Public Radio’s Weekend All Things Considered and has lectured for some of the most distinguished musical and artistic institutions in the United States. Moreover, Greenberg is the Alexander String Quartet’s Saturday Morning Series host and the Music Historian in Residence at San Francisco Performances.
