Additionally, Roberto Maroni became famous for his anti-immigration stances. When he served as interior minister in the League’s coalition with former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, Mr. Maroni led the passage of strict anti-immigration legislation. Maroni also served as a member of the chamber of deputies from 1992 to 2013 in Lombardy.
