On June 21, 1966, in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, Alisyn Lane Camerota, a political pundit and journalist on American television, was born. Camerota has a broadcast journalism degree from the American University in Washington, D.C. School of Communication.

Camerota worked for a number of stations before joining Fox, including America’s Most Wanted, WHDH in Boston, and WTTG in Washington, D.C. At Koppel Communications, she also provided contributions to Ted Koppel’s primetime documentaries.

The show she currently hosts, CNN Tonight, airs from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. She has previously held positions as a host for Fox News, an anchor for CNN’s morning program New Day, and an afternoon co-host for CNN Newsroom. Camerota has reported on stories both locally and abroad and has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award for news reporting.

Alisyn Camerota covered the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels, and the Parkland school shooting.

Camerota had conversations with the National Rifle Association and the Parkland student survivors in the hours following the massacre.

She regularly criticizes Donald Trump and has participated in several panels with Trump supporters. She has also authored articles about the Me Too movement.

In addition to her responsibilities as the anchor of New Day, Alisyn has hosted primetime programs like The Hunting Ground: Sexual Assault on Campus and Tipping Point: Sexual Harassment in America.
