Where Is Brad Aldrich Now?

Brad Aldrich worked as a video coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008 to 2010. Brad allegedly sexually assaulted a Blackhawks prospect named Kyle Beach in 2010, just before the team won its first Stanley Cup in 50 years. According to an investigation, the team’s executives who were informed about the incident did not report it to the police and did not notify human resources until weeks later.

Brad left the Chicago Blackhawks in June 2010. Brad eventually ended up as a volunteer coach at Houghton High School in Michigan after leaving the Blackhawks, where Brad had sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy at a teammate’s house in 2013. Brad pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct involving a student later that year and was sentenced to 270 days in jail and five years of probation. Other allegations have since surfaced that Brad sexually abused two other adult men while coaching at Miami University in Ohio. Brad has only faced criminal charges as a result of the Michigan incident.

Kyle and the former Houghton High School student both filed lawsuits against the Blackhawks in 2021. An investigation commissioned by the team and conducted by the law firm Jenner and Block into the team’s response in 2010 when informed about Brad allegedly assaulting a prospect resulted in the resignations of Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman and former Blackhawks and current Florida Panthers head coach Joel Quenneville.

Brad was also a volunteer video coach for USA Hockey at various times between 2008 and 2011. Brad is currently residing in Hancock, Michigan. Brad is now a tier two registered sexual offender who must have his information verified bi-annually. Brad is the database of sexual offenders in the United States. Because he is on the registry, Brad cannot live near a public park or a school. However, it does not impose many constraints on his life.

Brad is currently living in a waterfront home in Michigan. Brad is currently the CEO of OcuGlass, an acid-etched glass manufacturer based in Michigan with ties to universities and colleges that employs ex-convicts and university interns. Brad also manages two rental properties.
