David Anthony Burns is now in prison awaiting his new set trial date of August 8, 2022, for the horrendous murder of a 19 years old Courtney Coco in 2004. Find more about the murdering officer.

Courtney Coco’s body was found in an abandoned Winnie building in Texas, which happens to be some 200 miles farther away from her actual apartment in Louisiana.

Coco was earning her degree in criminal investigation from Northwestern State University.

She was reported missing from her home in Lousiana and the disarray of her place clearly denoted that something harsh had happened there, away from the viewer’s eyes.

Coco’s murder in 2004 was unsolved till 2018 when her parents gave an interview with a crime science reporter who portrayed the case under headlines: “Who Killed Courtney Coco?”.

This sparked the interest of the investigator or Alexandria Police Detective Tanner Dryden.

Tanner would later solve the case in about 7 weeks and report the involvement of Louisiana police officer David Burns to the authority.

Louisiana police officer David Anthony Burns is in prison awaiting his trial assigned to August 8, 2022.

He has been pleading with the court hearing and the bailing judges to cut down his bail amount or bond amount from the large $500k value to $50k value.

David Anthony Burns was arrested in 2018 for the heinous murder of Courtney Coco that he committed way back in 2004.

When Courtney’s body was found from the Winnie apartment, he was so badly decomposed and was in an absolutely critical state that the actual cause of death was not found.

The state would later be hinted towards the involvement of a third party in the crime and the cause of death was reported to be a homicide.

A driving local resident would later express that he saw a Louisiana registered number plate and officer David backing up from the abandoned building.

The driver remembered the minute detail of that encounter as the police officer nearly hit his car during the process, thereby hinting at his eagerness to leave that place.

Coco’s parents thanked detective Tanner for solving the case so early, which took more than a decade for Lousiana and Texas Police Department to even sketch out the possible suspects.

David was rumored to involve in this case after he shared a harsh remark on Coco’s death which was so unnatural to come from someone seated in his position.
