He began filming in 2014, then in 2015, the year he graduated from high school, DDG added YouTube vlogs to his repertoire while still a student at Central Michigan University.
In order to concentrate on his YouTube and music careers, DDG left college a year later. Along with his longtime managers Eric O’Connor and Dimitri Hurt, he was signed to Epic Records in 2018 before starting his own record company, Zooted Music, in 2020. Over 200 million streams have been received for his smash song, Moonwalking in Calabasas, which features rapper Blueface. DDG made his boxing debut on June 12 against Nate Wyatt, defeating Nate by unanimous decision in the fifth round.
