The eldest child of Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al Fayed, who formerly owned the department store Harrods, Fayed was born in Alexandria. He was Omar, Camilla, Karim, and Jasmine Fayed’s half-brother. The Hôtel Ritz Paris and Fulham Football Club were both owned by Dodi’s father.
