Franco Harris came into the National Football League (NFL) and would in over 13 seasons he played as an active athlete be considered one of the greatest ever to play the game of football. Franco Harris was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey on March 7th, 1950 to a Father who served during World War II, Cad Harris, and a mother who was an Italian given to his father as a ‘War Bride’.
He had his high school education with Rancocas Valley Regional High School before proceeding to Penn State University where he was one of the outstanding football players as he showed incredible grit with the ball and strength that very few his age could match up. He would since then go on to have an illustrious career with the Pittsburgh Steelers which would eventually earn him the status as one of football’s most significant.
