Nona Blue Modern Tavern is more than just a restaurant and bar. It’s a place that brings people together, encourages social interaction, and reflects the environment.
Since the beginning, Nona Blue’s vision has been this way. Joe Davi and Bill Bona, co-founders and veteran restaurateurs, aimed to mix the warmth and sociability of a tavern with the polish and quality of a high-end casual restaurant when they created Nona Blue.
This idea evolved from their own personal experiences. Davi spent seven years as a General Manager for Houston’s/Hillstone in the high-end casual category before going on to J.
Davi and Bona met 2010 U.S. Open Champion Graeme McDowell, who had a long-standing interest in the food industry, in 2011. Davi & Bona’s Modern Tavern concept intrigued Graeme McDowell so much that he volunteered to help them convert it into Nona Blue.
The restaurant was named after a dialogue between Davi, Bona, and McDowell during the 2012 Tavistock Cup.
