Afghanistan’s head coach, Graham Thorpe, who was admitted to the hospital in May owing to a serious illness, has been replaced by Jonathan Trott. Because of this, supporters are worried about the former England star once more.

Thorpe had represented England internationally while participating for Surrey County Cricket Club domestically. Despite being a right-hander by natural birth, he bats in the middle of the order with his left hand. He has taken part in nearly 100 tests.

In addition, despite being right-handed like the majority of the players, he changed his stance at the age of six.

He made the decision to switch from the right-hander when playing cricket with his two older brothers in the backyard in order to make it difficult for them and have shorter boundaries on the left-handed leg side.

However, he made his Surrey debut in 1988 and his international debut in 1993. In his first test match against Australia, the second inning of his performance was exceptional. He was still in with 114 runs after that.

Where Is Graham Now? Is He Still Coaching England?

Graham might still be receiving medical care after being given a prognosis, including medication and exams. Between 2010 and 2022, the former England player also served as the batting coach for his country. But as a result of the team’s poor performance, he quit as England’s coach.

But he was once more given the Afghanistan coaching position in March. But it appears he won’t be able to train the team given his ailment. So, only four months after being appointed to the role, Jonathan Trott, another former England batter, has taken his place. Everyone appeared worried about his health and condition as the news spread online.
