Jennette McCurdy independently-released debut single “So Close” by Jennette McCurdy in 2009. She published her first EP, “Not That Far Away,” the following year, and then the Jennette McCurdy EP and album in 2012. “Generation Love” was the lead single, and it peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Jennette opted to pursue a career in writing and directing after quitting performing in 2017. She opened her one-woman show “I’m Glad My Mom Died” in Los Angeles and New York City in the early 2020s; more performances were postponed to September 2021 owing to the COVID-19 epidemic.
