Joycelyn Savage, one of R. Kelly’s lovers who has supported him despite being accused of a crime, is now coming forward and claiming to be a victim of the R&B legend.
The 24-year-old reactivated her Instagram account to let her followers on the Patreon crowdsourcing platform know that she would be releasing the tale of her time spent with R. Kelly.
In the first essay, she detailed how, in 2015, when she was 17 years old, she first encountered Kelly during one of his concerts. Kelly promised to begin pursuing a musical career.
Following his assurances, she left college and moved in with Kelly.
Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn and Chicago have separately accused Kelly of luring teenage girls and women to have sex with him, and Kelly was jailed in Chicago in July on suspicion of doing so.
He entered a plea of not guilty. In addition to the two federal charges, Kelly is the subject of an investigation by the states of Illinois and Minnesota.
Savage acknowledged in her post that she was taking a chance by sharing her story.
She hasn’t recently said anything like to what she’s said about Kelly.
She and Gayle King spoke on CBS to defend their relationship.
Savage, Azriel Clary, and Kelly’s other girlfriend all responded to claims that Kelly had engaged in physical and sexual violence and was hiding something.
