American journalist Leland Holt Vittert was born in Illinois on August 31, 1982. Vittert joined Theta Chi while pursuing his Bachelor of Arts at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. He also finished The General Course, a year-long study abroad program at the London School of Economics.

Vittert worked for Fox News from 2010 to 2021, first as a newscaster and subsequently as a foreign correspondent based in Jerusalem. Vittert served as a guest host on America’s Newsroom, Happening Now, and Fox & Friends, among other programs.

In the 2000s, Leland Vittert worked as a reporter for Orlando, Florida’s WFTV-TV and Denver, Colorado’s KDVR-TV, where he also hosted the weekend news. At WMTV-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, KATV-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas, and KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Vittert also held positions. Mediaite and The Daily Caller commended Leland’s reporting on the unrest in Baltimore after Freddie Gray’s passing.

Leland, who stood amid the protesters and faced a quiet line of riot police, “made his mark…by interviewing demonstrators and neighbours who were affected by the story in different ways,” according to Mediaite.
