Garcia’s rap career began when Smokepurpp requested him to freestyle over one of his original tunes. His breakthrough single was the song “Lil Pump,” which was independently released in 2016 on the music-streaming service SoundCloud.
With the singles “Elementary,” “Ignorant,” “Gang Shit,” and “Drum$tick,” Garcia swiftly followed the song with each of which amassing over three million streams. He is considered as one of the most well-known rappers on SoundCloud and is renowned for both his uncomplicated music and appealing on-stage persona.
In 2017, Garcia began to gain notoriety thanks to the SoundCloud songs “D Rose” and “Boss,” which had a combined 70 million plays. Chicago-based director Cole Bennett, also known by his stage as Lyrical Lemonade, made a music video in response to the song “D Rose” becoming so famous.
In March 2023, Pump would announce the album’s artwork and tracklist, which also featured cameos from Smokepurpp, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Ty Dolla Sign. The album is titled Lil Pump 2, and it is expected to be released in April 2023. The album went on sale on March 17. The album was yet another commercial disappointment because it didn’t chart, despite receiving more social media exposure.
