Marcel Sabitzer, is an Austrian professional footballer, he was born on 17 March 1994. Marcel competes for both the Austrian national team and the Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich as a midfielder, he mostly plays as a central midfielder, although he can also play as an attacking midfielder, a second striker, a winger, or a defensive midfielder.
Sabitzer rejoined RB Leipzig for the 2015–2016 season, making 34 appearances and scoring eight goals. On April 1, 2016, Sabitzer renewed his contract until 2021. In 33 appearances, he scored nine goals to end the 2016–2017 campaign, the following year, in 34 appearances, he scored five goals.
Sabitzer’s first two UEFA Champions League goals came in back-to-back games against Zenit Saint Petersburg in the 2019–2020 season. However, on March 10, 2020, he scored twice in a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League round of 16, giving RB Leipzig a 4-0 overall victory and a spot in the quarterfinals of the competition for the first time in the club’s history.
