Trina is “the most consistent female rapper of all time,” claims XXL.

According to Complex’s 2013 list of the Top 50 Best Rap Songs by Women, her song “Pull Over” came in at number 27. In 2014, Billboard included Trina on its list of “31 Female Rappers Who Changed Hip-Hop.”

When Trina was seeking her real estate license in 1998, Miami musician Trick Daddy noticed her and asked her to appear in his song “Nann Nigga.”

The song was released as the first single from Trick’s second studio album, www.thug.com, on July 14, 1998.

It peaked at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and No. 3 on the Rap Songs chart. As a result, Trina’s rap career took off, and she later secured a record deal with Slip-n-Slide Records, which provided distribution.

Trina has lived true to her debut album’s title since its release on March 21, 2000. She carved out a place as a strong alpha female at the age of 19, despite having no prior rap experience, normalizing sexual agency for women in a male-dominated arena.
