Rishi Sunak was born on May 12 1980 in Southampton, Hampshire, England to Yashvir Sunak, father and Usha Sunak, mother. He has three other siblings with him being the eldest.

He attended Lincoln College, Oxford where he studied philosophy, politics and economics.

Sunak was the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Government under Theresa May’s second tenure in government. He is currently the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a position he has held since 2020.

Rishi Sunak met his wife, Akshata Murthy, while acquiring MBA at Stanford University under Fulbright Scholarship. They got married in 2009 and now have two children by the name of Krishna Sunak and Anoushka Sunak.

Where is Rishi Sunak from originally?

Even though Rishik Sunak was born in England, he is originally from India. His grandparents migrated from Kenya, East Africa, where his father was born, together with their children to England.

His grandparents were Indians, counting down to his Indian parents.
