Robert Christian Hansen, also referred to as the Butcher Baker, is an American serial killer, who was born on February 15, 1939.

About seventeen women in and around Anchorage, Alaska, were kidnapped, raped, and murdered by Hansen between 1971 and 1983; he pursued many of them in the bush with a Ruger Mini-14 and a knife. He was detained, found guilty, and given a 461-year sentence without the possibility of parole in 1983.

Hansen was arrested on December 7, 1960, for burning a Pocahontas County Board of Education bus garage, which was as a result of revenge for his unpopularity in high school.

In Anamosa State Penitentiary, he completed the first twenty months of a three-year prison term. He was diagnosed with Manic depression with recurrent schizophrenia episodesc, during his incarceration. The psychiatrist who provided the diagnosis stated that Hansen had a “infantile personality” and was fixated on exacting retribution from those who he believed had harmed him. In the midst of Hansen’s incarceration, his wife filed for divorce.

Where Is Robert Hansen Now?

Robert Hansen is dead. He died at the age of 75 years, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, on August 21, 2014, and his cause of death was from underlying health conditions.
