On the episode, a handful of her former cellmates who testified against her in court give a unique glimpse into the murder case by speaking out about what the suspected killer reportedly said to them while they were incarcerated.
In the year 2012, Hubers, who was then 21 years old, made the call to 911 herself to report that she had shot Poston, who was 29 at the time, in self-defense. The investigation revealed that he had been shot a total of six times, including once in the head. After being detained for interrogation, Hubers was subsequently arrested for the murder.
Where Is Shayna Hubers Now?
Hubers was found guilty and given a sentence of life in prison with the potential for release. She is now being held at the Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women in Pewee Valley, Kentucky, and will not be eligible for release until the year 2032. Hubers’ sentence requires her to serve a total of 17 years in prison.
