As part of his coaching career, Tom Herman was known to have as well coached the Texas Longhorns at the University of Texas located in Austin from the year 2017 to the year 2020. Also at the University of Houston from the year 2015 to the year 2016, Tom Herman was the head coach at the time. His current team, The Florida Atlantic Owls is an Atlanta-based football team of Florida Atlantic University. They are known to participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Conference. Before his coaching career, Tom Herman played as a wide receiver at All-Southern California Athletic Conference.
