Granson was raised in Austin, Texas, where he attended Westlake High School. Granson was born in DeMotte, Indiana. As a senior, Granson was selected to the second team for District 14-6A. Despite not being highly recruited, he chose Rice over an offer from Harvard to play college football.
The Indianapolis Colts selected Granson with the 127th overall choice in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
