Sacheen Littlefeather, the Apache activist and actress who rejected the best actor award on behalf of Marlon Brando at the 1973 Oscars to oppose discrimination against Native Americans in the movie industry. Her demise was declared by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Sunday. A declaration from her family stated she passed at her home on Sunday in Marin County, California.
