Alyssa VanHook, killed early on Sunday morning in a collision near Howell, was the artistic director for the last three years for Students News Publication Uncaged. She is a student representative and the senior class’s vice president.
According to Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy, Alyssa VanHook, 18, she has lost her life in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of N. Latson Road and M-59/Highland Road Oceola Township.
Alyssa was “a beautiful sister, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and friend who affected the lives of those around her,” according to a GoFundMe account set up by VanHook’s mother, Danielle Falin.
By Monday at noon, the GoFundMe campaign had collected more than $9,950 of its $15,000 goal. Murphy claimed that VanHook was from Howell and attended school in Stockbridge, where she had previously lived. She was listed as the publication’s creative editor and a Stockbridge High School student on the website for the student newspaper Uncaged.
