He resided with his younger siblings, Douglas Mitchell (born 1966) and Julie Neal after the family shortly relocated to Springfield, Missouri (born 1969). He was raised as a Southern Baptist and was nurtured in a devout Christian home. Later, he “oscillated[d] between agnosticism and atheism.” Later, he found a way to reconcile his spirituality. Pitt, who grew up in a region with “a lot of hills, a lot of lakes,” has referred to Springfield as “Mark Twain territory, Jesse James country.”
