Declan “Dec” Joseph Oliver Donnelly OBE (born September 25, 1975, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England) is a British television presenter, producer, musician, comedian, and actor.
He is well-known for his role as half of the Ant & Dec presenting duo alongside Ant McPartlin.
In the children’s drama series Byker Grove, Donnelly and McPartlin first gained notoriety together.
Both men then enjoyed successful careers as television presenters, most notably hosting SMTV Live (between 1998 and 2001), I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, The Voice. and Saturday Night Takeaway (since 2002), as well as Britain’s Got Talent (since 2002). (since 2007).
Along with hosting the game shows PokerFace, Push the Button, Pop Idol, and Red or Black?, Donnelly and McPartlin have also hosted the charity event Text Santa from 2011 to 2014 and performed as the pop duo PJ & Duncan.
Donnelly served as best man during McPartlin’s wedding to Lisa Armstrong on July 22, 2006. After his father died of cancer in a hospital in August 2011, Donnelly attended his father’s burial.
