Kamila Valieva’s parents were the ones to introduce her to skating from a very young age. Kamila was five years old when her mother asked her to choose a sport, and she chose skating and has never looked back.

The youngest participant of the Olympics 2022 has not disclosed the name of her parents to the public yet. However, we do have some information on her father and mother.

However, she has given tribute to her great grandfather, Zinnatullin Nasretdin Zinnatullovich, who was a machine gunner in an infantry division in 2nd Ukrainian Front.

Her parents enrolled her in figure skating lessons when she was 3.5 years old. Similarly, at the age of 12, her parents enrolled her in the “Sambo-70” sports school in Moscow.

Her career took a great turn there, as she was noticed by Eteri Tutberidze, the coach of 2014 Olympic champion Alina Zagitova and world champion Evgenia Medvedeva.

She recruited Kamila to her team and provide her with guidance and training. A year later, in the 2019/20 season, She won the ISU Junior Grand Prix and the world junior championship.

Kamila became the second skater in history to perform a quadruple toe loop at ISU competitions and set a world record for points among union members.

On December 26, 2021, She was crowned Russian Champion in adult figure skating. And became the first woman to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

On her way to the senior ranks, the 15-year-old has made an even bigger impact than the 3A, Alena Kostornaia, Anna Shcherbakova, and Alexandra Trusova.

She is on the way to breaking world records almost every time she skates. She was nearly 35 points ahead of Trusova in her most recent victory at the Russian nationals, a competition record victory margin, with Shcherbakova in third place.

Kamila is performing at a much higher level than her competitors and will be the overwhelming favorite to win Olympic gold in Beijing in 2022.
