Joe Michael “Dusty” Hill was born on May 19, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, the United States, he is famously known as an American musician. Hill and his brother Rocky started their earning from their performance at the age of 8.

Dusty began playing bass when he was 13 years old when Rocky and a drummer started a band. Dusty Hill spent more than 50 years playing bass for the rock group ZZ Top, however, he didn’t start off learning to play the guitar as many bassists do.

He said: “I kind of picked up some playing skills on stage and other things, and shame is a great motivator. It is in your best interest to get yourself together very quickly because if you don’t perform well, it really shines out from up there with the lights on. He stated that he struggled academically and did not love going to school, “I was already playing in local bars by the time I was 13 years old, so part of the issue was that school kind of got in the way of that and I didn’t like it, he stated.

Hill, Rocky, and the future ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard featured in local Dallas bands, known as the Warlocks. The Dallas-Fort Worth-Houston tour was performed by American Blues from 1966 to 1968, and in 1969, Hill and Beard played together in a parody of the British band the Zombies.
