Eminem is a stage name for Marshall Bruce Mathers III, an American rapper and record producer who was born on October 17, 1972. He is hailed as one of the best rappers of all time and is recognized for having popularized hip hop in middle America.
Racial hurdles for the acceptability of white rappers in mainstream music are often credited to Eminem’s worldwide success and renowned works. He became notorious for most of his provocative pieces in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Still, he also became a symbol of the underclass’s widespread anguish and has been credited as an influence by several artists across a wide range of genres.
After the release of his debut album Infinite (1996) and the extended play Slim Shady EP (1997), Eminem joined Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. The Slim Shady LP, which he released in 1999, helped him gain widespread recognition.
His subsequent two albums, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002) were both commercial triumphs and Grammy Award nominees for Album of the Year. Eminem took a break from music in 2005 following the release of Encore (2004), partly because of prescription drug addiction.
