“from the river to the sea”

Despite his strong presence in the activist sphere, Malik’s recent actions have drawn scrutiny, particularly about his participation in the controversial “from the river to the sea” chant, which has been deemed offensive and incendiary by several prominent officials.

A video from Luton in May 2021 showed Malik addressing a protest against an Israeli offensive, accusing media of Zionist censorship. He instigated chants of “from the river to the sea” and criticized the police’s handling of various incidents, including the Sarah Everard vigil.

Additionally, his involvement with the London Muslim Communities Forum was highlighted, with a recent statement from the forum threatening legal action against potential protest bans. Amid these developments, Malik remains vocal about perceived state oppression.
