The skier’s father was diagnosed with this in 2013. Four years later, he had to stop practising his medical career as the illness took over him. However, Mark’s ailment is slow progressing, which is why he has survived with it for 9 years.

The athlete has stated how this has affected him, and hence led him to raise further awareness about this issue so that more research can be done towards its cure.
