Dean and fellow model Ashton Schnehage narrowly escaped a collision in October 2008. She was admitted to the Milnerton Medi-Clinic. The accident caused her to leave her job.
Dean made her acting debut in the Amanda role of the Spud movie adaptation from 2010; she later played the same role in Spud 2: The Madness Continues. Later, she played the lead role in the 2017 films Don’t Sleep and An Interview with God.
In the same year as her, Syonide was cast in two seasons of the DC Universe television series Black Lightning. In February 2020, Dean will formally join the cast of Ruben Stlund’s Triangle of Sadness.
