He was recruited by several top college football programs, ultimately choosing to attend Texas. As a freshman in 2017, Johnson played in all 13 games for the Longhorns and he established himself as one of the team’s top receivers.
Collin Johnson led the Longhorns in receiving yards (985) and touchdown receptions, while also recording 68 receptions.
Johnson’s standout performances helped lead Texas to a victory in the 2018 Sugar Bowl over the University of Georgia. He made nine starts for the season as a sophomore, finishing with 54 catches. However, he caught the ball for a career-high 191 yards versus USC early in his junior season, including 47 on the game-winning touchdown.
