In other news, the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza finds itself surrounded by Israeli tanks following artillery fire that resulted in the death of at least 12 Palestinians within the complex, as reported by the Ministry of Health in the beleaguered enclave. Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesperson for Gaza’s Health Ministry, described the situation within the Indonesian Hospital as catastrophic, with hundreds of individuals trapped inside.

Despite the perilous circumstances, the hospital staff remains committed to providing medical care to the wounded. Al-Qudra emphasized that around 700 people, including both medical personnel and injured individuals, are currently confined within the hospital. The Israeli military, known for its infrequent disclosure of troop movements, has not provided an immediate response to the events unfolding at the Indonesian Hospital.

Reports from the Palestinian news agency Wafa indicated that the facility, situated in the northeastern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya, suffered artillery fire. Palestinian health officials are actively engaged in urgent efforts to evacuate civilians from the immediate danger zone. Hospital staff vehemently denied the presence of any armed militants on the premises.

In response to these developments, Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi condemned Israel’s actions and called on Tel Aviv’s international partners to intervene and halt what she termed as “atrocities.” Marsudi asserted that the attack on the hospital constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian laws. She urged countries, particularly those with close ties to Israel, to leverage their influence and capabilities to compel Israel to cease its alleged atrocities. The unfolding situation highlights the gravity of the conflict in the region and the urgent need for international intervention to mitigate the humanitarian crisis.
