The interview occurred by mistake. Goma was born in 1969. Goma was attending the BBC for a job interview when he was mistaken for technology expert Guy Kewney.
Who is Guy Goma?
Kewney was in the main reception area, a producer was told. After asking if Goma was Guy Kewney, the receptionist pointed to him. The producer saw Kewney’s photo five minutes before the live interview. Goma was questioned if he was “Guy.” Hearing his initial name, Goma verified he was Guy and was escorted to the News 24 studio, put in makeup, and ushered to the broadcast studio.
As a result, Goma was summoned onto a BBC special about the case Apple Corps vs. Apple Computer to offer insight on a topic that he understood very nothing about. Because of the incident, Goma rose to prominence, and it is now remembered as an iconic moment in television history.
