Psaki graduated from Greenwich High School in 1996 and went on to study English and sociology at the College of William & Mary in Virginia before starting her political career in campaign communications for the Democrats.
She played an important role in both John Kerry’s and Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns, eventually becoming Obama’s deputy press secretary during his presidency.
It’s no surprise that Joe Biden chose her to be his spokesman and press secretary because she worked closely with Obama during his presidency.

Psaki’s spouse, Gregory Mecher, has followed in his wife’s political footsteps. Mecher attended Northern Kentucky University to study communications and television production after growing up in southern Ohio (via The Sun).
He began his political career while still an undergraduate, before beginning an internship with Kentucky Congressman Ken Lucas.
He then worked as a head of staff for former Ohio Representative Steve Driehaus and former Massachusetts Representative Joe Kennedy III.
