According to documents from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross was arrested on a felony damage charge on Monday, putting him in legal hot water.

According to the arrest report, Ross, a Clemson graduate who signed as an undrafted free agent, was taken into custody by the police at 2:54 p.m. At 4:27 p.m., he was subsequently jailed for criminal damage exceeding $25,000. This is a felony in Kansas.

Who is Justyn Ross?

Justyn Ross became well-known while playing college football at Clemson. He is currently an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs. Originating from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, Ross was one of the nation’s best wide receivers and a much sought-after four-star recruit in the 2018 class.

He pledged to play football for Clemson, where he had an outstanding debut season with nine touchdowns, 1,000 yards, and 46 receptions. Ross showed great promise and was named a Freshman All-American by respected publications like 247Sports and the Football Writers Association of America.

Ross encountered hardship in 2020 when he had spinal fusion surgery and missed the full season. Not to be defeated, he returned victorious in 2021 with 46 receptions for 514 yards and six touchdowns. His performance and tenacity won him the Brian Piccolo Award from the ACC, which is evidence of his bravery.

Ross signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2022 despite not being selected in the NFL Draft. He made an impression at training camp and was added to the 53-man roster. He played in 16 games as a rookie and contributed significantly, hauling in 16 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

He is expected to compete for a starting position on the offense as he begins his second season with the Chiefs in 2023.
