D’Amato established the American record for the 10-mile women’s-only race in 51:23 in November 2020, beating Janet Cherobon-previous Bawcom’s mark set in 2014. She earned a sponsorship deal with Nike in February 2021 after additional success at multiple distances that year. Keira D’Amato broke the American women’s marathon record at the Houston Marathon on January 16, 2022, finishing in 2:19:12, shaving 24 seconds off the previous American record established by Deena Kastor in 2006.

D’Amato was called up from the alternate position two weeks before the 2022 World Athletics Championships to represent the United States for the first time. Keira D’Amato finished eighth in the event with a timing of 2:23:34, capping off a historic performance for the US, which saw all three American athletes finish in the Top 8.

D’Amato has three USATF National Titles: the 2021 Women’s Half Marathon championship in 1:07:55; the 2022 Women’s 6K title in 17:52 and a new course mark in Canton, Ohio; and the 2022 Women’s 20k title in 1:04:29 and a new course record in New Haven, Connecticut.
