Kevin Jan Magnussen (born 5 October 1992) is a Danish racing driver who currently drives for the Haas F1 Team in Formula One. With the exception of the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix, Magnussen finished every race in his first Formula One season.

On December 11, 2014, it was announced that Fernando Alonso would join Button in the cockpit, with Magnussen remaining at McLaren as a test and reserve driver.

He took over for Fernando Alonso at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix after Alonso was told to miss the race due to medical advice following his crash at the first test in Barcelona.

Magnussen, on the other hand, was unable to begin the race due to engine failure on his way to the grid. McLaren later informed him on his twenty-third birthday that he had been released because Button and Alonso were both confirmed to race for them in 2016.

McLaren made the announcement official on October 16, 2015, while Magnussen had previously stated that he was in talks with other teams.
