As he prepares to race for a record eighth world title, Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time Formula One winner, said on Monday that he will change his name to honor his mother Carmen Larbalestier.

The 37-year-old said that he will add his mother’s surname to his own race as Lewis Hamilton-Larbalestier in a move that will take effect “soon.”

The Mercedes driver said in an on-stage interview at the Expo international exposition in Dubai.

Who is Lewis Hamilton mother Carmen Larbalestier?

Carmen Larbalestier is well known as the mother of Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton. She was born in the United Kingdom in November 1955, making her 66 years old in 2022.

Her racial background was British-Caucasian.

Carmen Hamilton’s first husband was Anthony Hamilton. Anthony is a Black British citizen, whilst Carmen is a British citizen.

Their son, Lewis, was two years old when they married in 1979 and divorced when he was two years old. Anthony’s desire for fame was claimed to be the reason for their breakup.
