Dean made her acting debut in the 2010 Spud movie as Amanda, a part she also played in the follow-up, Spud 2: The Madness Continues. She later appeared in the movies Don’t Sleep (2017) and An Interview with God (2018) as a leading lady. She was cast in the same year as Syonide, a recurring role in the DC Universe series Black Lightning that she performed for two seasons.
At age of 32, Charlbi Dean passed away at a hospital in New York City on August 29, 2022, from what was referred to as “an unexpected untimely illness.” Shortly before Triangle of Sadness’s international premiere, she passed away.
