Matt was born in New York City, which is relevant because Matt is a sportsman. His family relocated to Pennsylvania State College when Matt was a teenager. Before transferring to Penn State as a linebacker, the young player joined the squad at State College Area High School. Rhule spent four years at Penn State playing for Joe Paterno. Matt was a three-time Penn State Scholar-Athlete and was recognized in 1997 as Academic All-Big Ten. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Penn State, Matt continued his education there. The athlete earned a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University at Buffalo in 2003 while pursuing his academic interests.
