A McDonald’s employee in North Carolina who shot and killed a woman involved in a disturbance at the restaurant will face murder charges, according to the Hendersonville police.

The incident occurred on Monday morning at a McDonald’s restaurant in Hendersonville, North Carolina. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman with a single gunshot wound who was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Jacklyn Marie Reed from Johnson City, Tennessee.

The disturbance began when the victim and another woman got into an argument at a nearby bus stop. The other woman went into the McDonald’s to separate herself from the victim. A McDonald’s manager intervened to separate the two women, and the victim left the restaurant but returned shortly after. At that point, the manager and Sam Antwan Ivey, an employee at McDonald’s, confronted the victim.

During the disturbance, the victim touched Ivey, who then shot her with a concealed handgun. Ivey fled the scene in his vehicle but was apprehended by a school resource deputy at Edneyville Elementary School, where he had a child attending school. The school went into a “Secure holding” mode, and Ivey was taken into custody without incident.
