He also has a brother and a sister. It is unknown how his family’s personal affairs are currently doing. Nichols worked the second shift for FedEx, making deliveries.
On January 7, 2023, this occurrence took place during a traffic check. Three days later, Tyre Nichols unexpectedly passed away in the hospital. The police allegedly deployed a taser and pepper spray on Nichols outside of his car for allegedly driving dangerously,
Nichols managed to get away. As more cops pursued Nichols, one of them muttered, “I hope they stomp his ass.” When the police approached Nichols, they beat him with punches, kicks, and a baton blow to the back while holding him for almost three minutes.
Nichols went away three days after being admitted to the hospital. His family had requested an autopsy, which turned up “extensive blood caused by a brutal assault.”
