Vicky White was an Alabama jail official who attained international scandal after fleeing with a violent murder suspect. White, who was a prison guard from Alabama for nearly two decades assisted a 38-year-old inmate Casey White, in escape on April 29.
Casey was already serving a 75-year prison sentence for a string of violent crimes in 2015. He has since been charged with stabbing a woman aged 58 to death. Vicky’s major job is the transportation of prisoners.
“He was here in 2020 for an arraignment and preliminary hearing, and when he finished that, he went back to state prison,” Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said in a May 5 statement.
The Sheriff explained”We have confirmed through independent sources and other means that there was a relationship between Casey White and Vicky White outside of her normal work hours–not physical contact –but a relationship of a different nature.
Investigators found out they had been in a relationship since 2020 when Casey White was brought to Lauderdale County jail for his arraignment on murder charges in the death of Connie Ridgeway.
“As far as we know that was the earliest physical contact they had,” the Lauderdale County Sheriff told.
The authorities found the pair on Monday in Evansville, Indiana, subsequently 11 days on the run.
Casey White was apprehended by the police, Authorities declare they believe Vicky fatally shot herself. Dave Wedding, the sheriff in Vanderburgh County, Indiana said “We believe that she may have taken her own life.
Vicky White, at 56, was on the point of retiring as a correction officer. She was the county’s assistant director of corrections. She was a widow with no children.
