American football kicker Harrison Butker plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League and goes by the nickname “Butt Kicker.” Georgia Tech was where he played football in college. With an 88.1 career field goal percentage, he ranks fourth in NFL history. He led the NFL in scoring in 2019 and helped the Chiefs win a Super Bowl.

Who kicked a 72 yard field goal?

Harold R. Kuntz of FOX 4 Kansas City recorded Butker’s 72-yard kick through the uprights during warmups at Arrowhead Stadium’s GEHA Field.

The ball was lined up in close proximity to the right hash mark around the 38-yard line of the opposing team for Butker, who kicks with his right foot. The video showed Butker taking his usual three steps to the ball and driving it through the air and over the crossbar while already in position. The loud cheering of a group of spectators indicated that the kick was effective.

The kick was executed with a real snap and hold, despite the fact that it was made without the pressure of an actual game situation. The NFL record of 66 yards set by Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker last season would have been broken by Butker’s 72-yard bomb.

Butker converted 25 of his 28 field goals, including a 56-yard long, and 47 of his 49 attempts at extra points during the previous season.
