A young lady was stabbed to death in broad daylight outside her university in northern Egypt, and authorities claim the culprit is a fellow student.
Egypt has been stunned by the murder of Naira Ashraf Abdel Qader, who was assassinated in plain front of security cameras and in front of horrified spectators. Images of her body have circulated on social media after she was brutally stabbed in the neck and chest at the Mansoura University entrance.
Who Killed Naira Ashraf?
The accused, known only as “Mohammed A” and detained at the scene, told the prosecution yesterday that Ashraf had banned him on social media and that he had made repeated efforts to contact her over a year and a half during which “she got famous” and developed a social media following.
According to Najum Masria, another Egyptian news site, the victim’s father said in a TV interview that the accused had threatened Ashraf multiple times and that the family had reported these threats to the police.
