Bimota is an Italian manufacturer of custom and production motorcycles that was founded in the year 1973. The company was founded in Rimini by three men.

One of Bimota’s co-founders who doubles as a long-time chief designer has since been an influential player in the development of other Italian brands. The role he plays most significantly is to work on the popular Ducati 916, the Ducat Paso as well as the MV Augusta F4. He as well takes care of other designs such us Bimota chief Sergio Robbiano who has also been involved with larger-volume manufacturers as well He does the aforementioned among others.

Very recent Bimota models include the DB5, DB6, DB7, DB9, and the Tesi, with a DB8 featuring the Ducati 1198 engine. The company has since been well managed by the three co-founders and has so far proven to be one of the best automobile manufacturing companies in Italy. Most of their motorbikes are used for racing.

Who Owns Bimota?

Bomita is owned by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri, and Massimo Tamburini. The company name is a portmanteau derived from the first two letters of each of the three founders’ surnames: Bianchi, Morri, and Tamburini.
